Actor and President of the Akhil Bharatiya Kalakar Sangh, Rohitashv Gour, along with Vice-President Rekha Gour, called on Governor Kavinder Gupta at Lok Bhavan on Saturday.
During the courtesy meeting, Gour briefed the Governor about the activities of the organisation and informed him about the commencement of the 71st Annual All India Drama and Dance Competition, being held in Shimla from June 6 to June 10.
He said that the prestigious national-level cultural event will see participation from thousands of artists across the country. The competition will feature performances by 27 theatre groups and around 260 dance presentations, showcasing India’s diverse artistic and cultural traditions.
The Governor appreciated the efforts of the Akhil Bharatiya Kalakar Sangh in promoting theatre, dance and cultural heritage through such long-running national platforms. He said that art and culture play an important role in preserving traditions, strengthening social harmony and encouraging creativity among the youth.
Governor Kavinder Gupta further stated that events like the All India Drama and Dance Competition provide emerging artists with valuable opportunities to showcase their talent while also promoting cultural exchange and national integration. He expressed confidence that the event would contribute significantly to strengthening the country’s cultural fabric and performing arts ecosystem.
