A high-level review meeting on the 100-Day TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was held today at Raj Bhavan under the chairmanship of Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla. The meeting assessed Himachal Pradesh’s progress in the nationwide effort to eliminate tuberculosis (TB), launched by the Government of India.
The Governor commended the state’s efforts and stressed the importance of consistent monitoring at both state and district levels, greater community engagement, and widespread public awareness to effectively implement TB elimination strategies. He also emphasized that stronger grassroots participation and strategic planning are vital to achieving a TB-free Himachal.
Governor Shukla reviewed district-level initiatives and instructed officials to compile a detailed progress report, which could be submitted to the Central Government for further support and collaboration.
M. Sudha Devi, Secretary of Health Services, briefed the Governor on the current TB elimination initiatives. A comprehensive status update was also presented by Dr. Gopal Beri, Deputy Mission Director and State TB Officer, outlining progress and key achievements under the campaign.
The meeting was attended by senior health officials, including C. P. Verma, Secretary to the Governor, and Pradeep Kumar Thakur, Mission Director of the National Health Mission.
The session concluded with a call for sustained efforts, inter-departmental coordination, and innovative approaches to accelerate TB elimination in Himachal Pradesh.
