Governor Visits Ayurvedic College Paprola

While addressing the heads of various faculties at the Government Ayurvedic College, Paprola in district Kangra today, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that Ayurveda was India’s permanent system of medicine which is based on vision of Nirog in its sweep, rather than the concepts of mere treatment of disease. He said that it is ironic that Ayurveda medicine was taken as an alternative medicine system even though it is permanent and is present in every household. He said that Ayurveda college could play an important role in changing this mindset. He said that the government was promoting Ayurvedic system of medicine in a big way. He said that Ayurvedic Decoction and Kwath had been widely recognized during Corona pandemic.

He lauded the efforts of the administration for setting up herbal garden in the college campus, the Governor said that such herbal gardens should be a part of our daily lifestyle. He said that this would also inspire others towards medicinal plants and students can play the role of a catalyst in this work. Principal of the college Dr. Vijay Chaudhary welcomed the Governor and apprised about the history, research works and various activities of the college. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal also detailed about the decoction prepared by NGOs at the local level and other products made from bamboo. Earlier, the Governor visited various faculties of the college and planted a Rudraksh plant in the herbal garden. Superintendent of Police Khushal Sharma and other officers of the district administration were also present on the occasion. Earlier, the Governor also offered prayers at the Shiva temple in Baijnath in Kangra district.
