The hamsa is a spiritual symbol which is used as a symbol of protection used in many cultures. The sign consists of a palm encased with an eye in the centre. The hamsa symbol has dual meaning. When the palm is faced upside it is known to ward off evil and when faced downward it is a sign of being grateful and welcoming people.
