auck.boys.22.8.15insideStudents of Auckland House School (Boys) senior section celebrated their annual sports day here today. During the event Dr M.P. Sood, Director Information and Public Relations graced the occasion with his esteemed presences as the chief guest. While speaking on the occasion Director Dr Sood said, “It is a great honour to be present on the occasion as the chief guest as he himself has memories associated with the place. He has been part of many events before too as a guardian of his daughter who studied in the same school years back. I feel proud that Sunita and Michael John have come a long way and have made great efforts not only to provide with best of education to the students but even in different walks of life. I wish them great success in future too and hope that Auckland grows as an institute in times to come.”

The event kick started with the Guard of Honour followed by an impressive March Past in which students from Classes III to X participated. Various mesmerizing displays were showcased by students using tambourine and dumbbells. Aerobics, Yoga and Taekwondo also won hearts of the all.

auck.boys.22.8.15inside1On the occasion, Inter-House races were held consisting of ball relay; sack race in which Vansh Gandhi stood first, Chirag stood second and Arnav Arya came in third; Under the Bench race was won by – Pranav Chauhan, Jigmet Rinchen and Chiraag Chaunhan who stood first, second and third respectively. In the Kangaroo Race – Aaryan Vashisht, Sumeet Kumar and Ravi Kalta bagged the first, second and third positions. In the Frog Race – Vansh Gandhi and Diwanshu Kapur stood first and second. In the One Legged Race — Chirag Chauhan, Aditya Sood and Sanjay Verma stood first, second and third, while in Taekwondo – Arindum Mahajan, Sameer Kaundal and Prakarsh Chaudhary won medals. In the parent race (men) Arunesh Arya; Kuldeep Thakur and Rupankush won the first, second and third position.

The Marching and Proficiency Cup was bagged by students of Matthew House whereas the Tug of War was won by Durant House. Hansin Bharti was declared as the best gymnast, while Pranav Chauhan was declared as the best Athlete. Best cartwheel was won by little Aryan Kumar of Lower KG Class.

While speaking on the occasion School Principal Michael A John said, “It feels great to see the students perform so well. We often find that students indulge in drugs, but sports is the best way to divert their young minds towards constructive activates. I feel great that even parents took out time to become part of the event as it is very important for children to see their parents taking interest in their daily life.”
