Precautionary Measure for Safety

In a proactive step to ensure the safety and security of students, the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Aditya Negi, has ordered the closure of all government and private educational institutes throughout the Shimla district. This decision comes in response to the latest forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), predicting heavy rainfall (Heavy Rain Alert) and issuing a red alert for the next 24 to 48 hours.

Under Section 30(2)(iii) of the Disaster Management Act 2005, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi exercised his powers to issue this closure order.
