A delegation of the Him Sports and Cultural Association, Shimla, met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan to invite him as the Chief Guest for the inauguration of their cricket tournament in Shimla. The event is scheduled to take place from June 10 this year.

Promoting Sports as a Positive Step

The Governor congratulated the Association for organizing the sports event and appreciated their efforts in connecting the youth with society and fighting against social evils like drug abuse. He emphasized the need to encourage youth towards sports and stated that such events are positive steps in this direction.

Annual Event to Promote Sports among Youth (Him Sports And Cultural Association)

Naresh Chauhan, the Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister, informed the Governor that the Him Sports and Cultural Association organizes cricket and other cultural activities every year. The primary aim of these events is to promote sports among the youth and involve them in constructive and positive activities. He added that organizing such competitions strengthens their physical and mental abilities.

Four Teams to Participate in the Competition

According to the General Secretary of the Association, Hardayal Bhardwaj, four teams would participate in the competition, which includes Governor-XI, Chief Minister-XI, Chief Justice-XI, and Journalist-XI. This would not only promote sportsmanship but also foster healthy competition among the teams.

Encouraging Sports in a Big Way

The Governor’s visit as the Chief Guest for the cricket tournament would help in encouraging sports in a big way, and such events are crucial for promoting sports and involving the youth in positive activities. It is essential to organize such events regularly to maintain interest in sports and provide a platform for the youth to showcase their talent.
