The Rural Development Department, Himachal Pradesh, officially launched the Statewide Roll-out of the Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) 2025 Campaign on 17th September 2025 under the theme “Swachhotsav”.
The event was inaugurated by the Secretary, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj & General Administration, who served as the Chief Guest. Also present were the Director and Additional Director of the Rural Development Department, along with key stakeholders including representatives from KPMG, Waste Warriors Society, Healing Himalayas Foundation, Panchayat Secretaries, PRIs, SHG Members, school students, NCC and NSS volunteers, HP Forest Guard Volunteers, and the Forest Department.
During his address, the Secretary commended the vital role played by NGOs like KPMG, Waste Warriors, and others in driving the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G) in the state. He urged all participants to commit fully to the campaign and led the gathering in taking a Swachhata Pledge.
The Director of RDD also acknowledged the collective efforts of stakeholders statewide and emphasized the importance of continuing Swachhata activities with dedication and community spirit.
The event concluded with a Shramdaan activity, where dignitaries and participants took part in cleanliness and tree plantation drives from PRTI to Talai in Block Mashobra, Shimla.
