In a major step toward facilitating safe and transparent overseas employment, Himachal Pradesh has been granted a Recruitment Agent License (RAL) by the Ministry of External Affairs. With this, the Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (HPSEDC) is now officially authorized to recruit Indian workers for foreign employers.

CM Sukhu announced that the state has joined the ranks of a select group of Indian states with government-level recruitment authority for overseas jobs. This development aims to protect job seekers from exploitation by private agents and middlemen.

“Youth of Himachal Pradesh will no longer have to pay large sums to agents to secure jobs abroad. Through this government channel, they will now get access to verified, safe, and transparent employment opportunities overseas,” said the Chief Minister.

The license allows HPSEDC to initiate recruitment operations in line with international standards and employment laws. This move ensures that all overseas job placements are legitimate and regulated, reducing the risk of fraud and exploitation.

With this milestone, Himachal Pradesh strengthens its commitment to creating global employment avenues for its youth—offering them dignity, security, and support in their international careers.
