Under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Himachal Pradesh conducted simultaneous anti-drug meetings in 234 highly affected Panchayats across the state, reinforcing the goal of a Drug-Free Himachal at the grassroots level. These meetings, organized as part of the directives from the 6th State-Level NCORD Meeting held in Dharamshala on 2nd December 2025, aimed to reactivate Drug De-addiction Committees and strengthen community participation in drug prevention. Key objectives included assessing the drug situation at the Panchayat level, identifying vulnerable areas, formulating time-bound action plans, and ensuring active involvement of youth and local stakeholders. During the meetings, local intelligence on drug trafficking was reviewed, community awareness programmes were planned, and strategies for effective prevention and enforcement were discussed. The Himachal Pradesh Police urged citizens to report any information on drug abuse or trafficking via 112 or the nearest police station, assuring strict confidentiality for informants.
