The Himachal Pradesh Government has unveiled a new online portal, “Pankhuri,” aimed at enhancing welfare initiatives for women and children by encouraging wider community involvement.

Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar stated that the platform has been developed to bring together different sections of society in support of government schemes focused on women and child development. Announcing the launch on Thursday, he described the portal as a significant step toward promoting the overall growth and well-being of women and children in the state.

The digital platform enables citizens, voluntary groups, NRIs, and corporate entities to directly engage with and contribute to welfare initiatives. By facilitating collaboration, the government hopes to ensure improved support for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.

Kumar explained that “Pankhuri” functions as a single-window system, consolidating various programs related to women’s empowerment and child development in one place. Individuals and organizations can partner with projects and institutions according to their interests and capacity, helping to strengthen implementation at the grassroots level.

The portal allows cooperation in crucial areas such as nutrition, healthcare, education, safety, and rehabilitation. It also includes a “Search Institution” option, making it easier for users to identify and assist institutions or sectors of their choice. The initiative will complement major government schemes like Mission Saksham, Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0, Mission Shakti, and Mission Vatsalya, while also promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagement from the private sector.

Harish Mishra, District Programme Officer of the Women and Child Development Department in Bilaspur, emphasized that the “Pankhuri” portal operates as a transparent, non-monetary platform with no financial transactions involved. This mechanism ensures that assistance reaches the appropriate institutions and beneficiaries efficiently and with full accountability.
