Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh today at Vidhan Sabha chair a review meeting of centrally sponsored and Central Road Infrastructure Fund schemes.
While reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), the Public Works Minister said that 23 roads and 22 bridges have been approved in the third phase of the Yojana. He said that out of these projects, tenders for four roads have been awarded and tenders for the remaining 19 roads would be awarded soon.
He directed the officials to complete the construction work of the roads under the third phase of the PMGSY by June 2025. The Public Works Minister said that apart from this, tenders for 22 bridges should also be awarded as soon as possible and directed the officials to ensure their completion by December 2025.
He said that apart from this, the first and second phases of the PMGSY have almost been completed. In the meeting, progress of various projects being constructed by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) was also reviewed.
He gave necessary guidelines to the officials regarding the implementation of various projects so that the important projects of the state could be completed as soon as possible. He directed to organize a meeting related to various projects of the NHAI so that these projects can be expedited.
The Public Works Minister said that under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund Scheme, 191 projects worth Rs. 2,097 crore were approved, out of which the construction work of 143 projects has been completed, on which an amount of Rs. 861 crore has been spent.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi also gave his valuable suggestions. Secretary Public Works Department Abhishek Jain, Special Secretary Public Works Department Harbans Singh Brascon, Joint Secretary Surjit Singh Rathore, Engineer in Chief NP Singh and other officers were present in the meeting.
