Commitment to Green Energy
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized that these initiatives are pivotal for achieving the state’s goal of becoming a Green Energy State by 2026. The government also plans to phase out traditional buses in favor of electric buses in the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) fleet, further supporting the green energy movement.
Support for Electric Vehicles
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri highlighted plans to procure 350 e-buses and praised the state’s Transport Department for being the first in the country to operate an entirely electric fleet. The establishment of green corridors is expected to motivate private vehicle owners to transition to electric vehicles.
