In a proud moment for Himachal Pradesh, two talented softball players from the state — Kavita Thakur from Kotkhai, Shimla and Krishika from Nauradhar, Sirmaur — have been selected to represent Team India at the prestigious Asia Cup Women’s Softball Championship being held in China from July 14 to 20, 2025.
A total of 10 countries will be participating in this international tournament. Both Kavita and Krishika have earned their spots as key players on the Indian squad, a significant achievement that reflects their dedication and performance over the years. Kavita has been playing softball for the last 8 years, while Krishika has honed her skills for 5 years.
The tournament also serves as a qualifier for the Women’s Softball World Cup 2026, with the top two teams advancing to the global stage.
The Softball Association of Himachal Pradesh, under the leadership of President Balbir Verma (MLA Chopal) and Secretary Shri Santosh Chauhan, has extended best wishes to both players. The entire association and sports community of the state are cheering for their success and are hopeful they will bring pride to the nation and Himachal Pradesh.
Team India departed for China on July 13, marking the beginning of a journey filled with anticipation, opportunity, and national pride.
