Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced that the ongoing campaign against Chitta (synthetic drugs) in Himachal Pradesh will be transformed into a mass movement with active participation from every section of society.

Presiding over a review meeting held today in Shimla to assess preparations for the upcoming Anti-Chitta Walkathon—scheduled to be organized on 15 November 2025—the Chief Minister emphasized that collective effort is crucial to make Himachal Pradesh a drug-free state.

He informed that participants can register for the walkathon through a QR/barcode scan, ensuring wide participation. The walkathon, which will begin from The Ridge and culminate at Chaura Maidan, will feature various awareness activities involving youth, students, and citizens from all walks of life.

The Chief Minister directed all departments concerned to complete the necessary arrangements in time and ensure the success of the event. He stated that the campaign will continue for the next three months and will serve as a decisive battle against drug abuse in the state. “The government is fully committed to eradicating Chitta, and no one involved in this menace will be spared,” he asserted.

Sukhu added that following the state-level event, similar anti-Chitta programs will be organized at district and sub-divisional levels with participation from Cabinet members, MLAs, and prominent citizens.

During the meeting, Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari briefed the Chief Minister about preparations for the walkathon.
