HPSEB Maintenance Work Alert : Temporary Water Supply Disruption in Shimla

The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) has announced a scheduled shutdown for maintenance work at the Gumma and Giri pumping stations on 23rd May. As a result, there will be a temporary disturbance in the water supply schedule in Shimla on both 23rd and 24th May. In light of this situation, the Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) urges residents to use water judiciously during this period.

Maintenance Shutdown Impacting Water Supply:

The planned maintenance shutdown by the HPSEB at the Gumma and Giri pumping stations will directly impact the water supply in Shimla. The scheduled shutdown is expected to cause a disturbance in the regular water supply schedule for a period of two days, starting from 23rd May.

Appeal for Water Conservation:

In view of the anticipated water supply disruption, the SJPNL appeals to the residents of Shimla to exercise responsible water usage during this period. It is crucial for everyone to use water judiciously and minimize wastage to ensure that the available water resources are utilized efficiently.

Mitigating the Impact:

The SJPNL is taking necessary steps to mitigate the impact of the maintenance shutdown on water supply. Alternative arrangements are being made to ensure a continuous supply of water to the residents, albeit with certain adjustments to the regular schedule. The SJPNL assures that all efforts are being made to minimize inconvenience and restore normal water supply as soon as possible.
