Human Hope Foundation, Shimla, recently organized the Hope Chess Championship, providing government school students a professional platform to showcase their chess skills. This tournament is part of the Foundation’s broader initiative, “Chess for Every Child,” aimed at supporting underprivileged children and fostering their cognitive development.
Chess was chosen for its proven benefits in enhancing focus, logical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, helping children build confidence and independent thinking.
The event welcomed 30 young participants, including two students from Government Senior Secondary School, Sainj. The youngest participant was just 9-year-old Pritam Oraon. The championship was free for all, with refreshments and lunch provided, and participation certificates awarded to every child.
