gnfps.15.8.15aAccording to Albert  Einstein “We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made.” We made tryst with destiny more than 68 years ago. After a long struggle, Indians fulfilled their aspirations of becoming citizens of a free nation. So how have we fared in the years gone by? Admittedly, it has been a roller coaster side. There have been bumpy roads, stumbling blocks, moments of frustration but overall the juggernaut called India has caught the imagination of the world. From being one of the poorest nations, India is now a trillion dollar economy.

gnfps.15.8.15bIn order to inculcate the feeling of patriotism in students, Guru Nanak Foundation Public School celebrated Independence Day with great fervour and enthusiasm. The plethora of events filled the air with the essence of patriotism. It is a school which promises to impart a continuous futuristic education with a belief that every child has the spark to divine and is a source to make the nation progress.

gnfps.15.8.15cThe function began with the flag hoisting ceremony followed by a song by senior students “Vande Matram”. Toddlers from Kindergarten wing expressed their feelings through their poems, songs and slogans etc. Students of Classes V to X gave performances on various patriotic songs and expressed their feeling about the present scenario in form of a play Terrorist Attack”, which stole the hearts of the audience. Another play by the students of Class VII depicting the need of the hour for cleanliness had everybody thinking.

School Principal Namita Lal said, “Our school focuses on all round development of the child along with various life skills such as problem solving, empathy, coping with stress and at the same time puts a lot of effort to enhance their communication skills. The school tends to provide opportunity to each and every child to achieve something nobler and higher to merge in the reality of life.

The function concluded with a salute to the nation as everyone sung the National Anthem.
