India is advancing its vision of “AI for Humanity” through the India AI Stack, a comprehensive framework designed to deploy artificial intelligence at scale across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, finance, governance, and disaster management. The AI Stack integrates applications, AI models, compute, digital infrastructure, and energy to ensure reliable, inclusive, and impactful AI services for citizens.
The application layer powers user-facing solutions, from health diagnostics to farm advisory tools, while indigenous AI models, supported by platforms like IndiaAIKosh and BharatGen, provide India-specific intelligence in multiple languages and domains. The compute layer offers affordable, cloud-based access to 38,000 GPUs and 1,050 TPUs, alongside national supercomputing resources. Robust data centers and networks, including 5G and high-speed optical fiber, ensure seamless AI operations, while a growing share of clean, reliable energy sustains AI infrastructure sustainably.
Since its launch, AI applications have improved crop yields by 30–50% in select states, enabled early disease detection, enhanced e-court efficiency, and supported weather and disaster management. By making AI accessible, sovereign, and population-scale, India is reducing entry barriers, promoting innovation, and ensuring that technology serves public welfare, economic growth, and social equity.
The India AI Stack exemplifies the country’s commitment to inclusive, real-world AI adoption, enabling innovation that directly benefits citizens while building a resilient, future-ready digital ecosystem.
