In celebration of National Sports Day on August 27, 2026, India is set to host a massive youth engagement event titled “Khelo India Dialogue – Khel Ki Baat, PM Modi Ke Saath.” Spanning more than 1,500 locations nationwide—including premier institutions like IITs, IIMs, NITs, and AIIMS—the initiative creates a direct platform for aspiring athletes to share their ideas on the future of India’s sports and youth ecosystem. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the event with a virtual address, paving the way for synchronized physical programmes and interactive sessions across the country.
The dialogue centers around four key themes: expanding grassroots infrastructure, identifying scientific talent for the 2036 Olympics, enhancing youth leadership in governance, and building future-ready skills. Prominent sporting figures like Mary Kom, Saina Nehwal, PR Sreejesh, Baichung Bhutia, and P.T. Usha, alongside Union and State Sports Ministers, will participate directly to mentor youth and collect their policy feedback. To build long-term engagement, the event will also feature the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue Quiz and promote registration on the MY Bharat Portal.
