The present workshop on “Innovative Experiments in Physics” is a part of activities of HIMCOSTE under Science Popularisation Programme. It is a residential training workshop, which is being organised for the science teachers working in different schools in the State which emphasize on “Learning by Doing” and “Creative Teacher will Produce Creative and Innovative Students”. 60 participants from all over the state participated in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Amar Dev, Director, Deptt. of Higher Education, H.P. He appreciated the contribution of TGT  teachers in building the future of coming generation of nation. He appreciated the HIMCOSTE efforts towards organising workshop on “Innovative experiments in Physics”.

Dr. B.K. Tyagi, Scientist F, and Manish Yadav, Science Communicator, Vigyan Prasar, DST, GoI, were the main resource persons for the workshop. They demonstrated and explained the basic principles of physics using science kits, and day to day practical experiments for better teaching and making students understand the concepts easily.

Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology & Environment (HIMCOSTE) has been involved in science popularization programmes since its inception in 1986. HIMCOSTE has a wide outreach through Science Popularisation programmes. About 20000 (Twenty thousand) child scientists from 5000 (Five thousand) schools participate in Children’s Science Congress programme every year.

Kunal Satyarthi, IFS, Member Secretary was present during the workshop on behalf of HIMCOSTE. He motivated the science teachers to volunteer for the master teacher training and organising similar workshops within the State.
