Tree plantation program was organized by JICA Project for Improvement of Himachal Pradesh Forest Ecosystems Management and Livelihoods at Potter’s Hill, Summer Hill, Shimla. Where 70 students from Govt. Senior Secondary School Boileauganj, Shimla and JICA staff took part in the plantation program.

JICA's Green Initiative: Students And Staff Join Tree Plantation Program In Shimla

On this occasion Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests cum Chief Project Director (JICA), Nagesh Kumar Guleria, IFS welcomed the students & teachers and shared valuable information about the importance of plantation and how to increase the green cover in Himachal Pradesh. He said to control pollution; we have to plant more and more trees as trees play a vital role in purification of the air.

Project Director Shreshtha Nand also educated students regarding the value of trees and gave logical explanations to students. During the program students asked forest related questions which were addressed by the CPD and shared his valuable expertise with the students. The Principal KC Sharma of Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Boileauganj, Shimla, NSS incharge Anil Awasthi and other teachers of the school were present on the occasion and planted 1 sapling each.
