Kavinder Gupta Receives Grand Welcome in Shimla

Shimla witnessed a grand and enthusiastic welcome for Governor (designate) Kavinder Gupta and his wife Bindu Gupta on Monday evening. Gupta is set to take oath as the 30th Governor of Himachal Pradesh on 10 March 2026 at 11:45 a.m.

The couple was received at Lok Bhavan by the state’s top leadership, including CM Sukhu, Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, political advisor Sunil Sharma, MLAs, senior civil and police officers, Vice-Chancellors, and other prominent citizens.

During the reception, the Chief Minister honored the Governor-designate and his wife with the traditional Himachali cap, shawl, and a memento.

Addressing the media, Gupta expressed his commitment to the welfare and progress of Himachal Pradesh. “We will move forward collectively for the betterment of Himachal Pradesh. Serving as Governor is both a great responsibility and a challenge, and I will strive to fulfill it with dedication,” he said.

The warm reception highlighted the goodwill and optimism of the state’s people and leadership as they prepared to welcome the new Governor ahead of his swearing-in ceremony.
