In a cabinet meeting chaired by CM Sukhu, the Himachal Pradesh government approved several major policy decisions aimed at administrative reform, social welfare, rural development, and renewable energy.

  1. Reclassification of Posts:
The Cabinet approved the reclassification of Level-11 posts from Group-B to Group-C. With this change, only bonafide Himachali candidates will be eligible to apply. These posts will now be recruited through the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog instead of the Public Service Commission.

  2. Honorarium Hike for PWD Workers:
The honorarium of Multi-Task Workers in the Public Works Department has been increased from ₹5,000 to ₹5,500, benefitting approximately 5,000 workers.

  3. Milk Incentive Scheme:
A new scheme was approved to provide a ₹3 per litre subsidy to milk producers supplying milk to recognized non-government dairy cooperatives. The subsidy will be transferred via DBT.

  4. HPTDC Office Shift:
The office of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) will be relocated from Shimla to Dharamshala, aligning with Kangra’s designation as the state’s Tourism Capital and to help decongest Shimla.

  5. Police Recruitment in Dehra:
Approval was given to create and fill 101 posts in the Police Lines of District Police Dehra.

  6. Solar Power Subsidy Scheme:
To promote clean energy and self-employment, the Cabinet approved interest subsidies for solar projects:

    • 5% subsidy for 100 KW to 1 MW projects in tribal areas

    • 4% subsidy for 250 KW to 2 MW projects in non-tribal areas

  7. Green Panchayat Solar Projects:
An MoU will be signed between HIMURJA and selected Gram Panchayats for the installation of 500 KW solar plants in 100 panchayats. These are projected to generate ₹25 lakh/month, with revenue shared among HIMURJA (30%), State Government (20%), and Panchayats (40%), and an additional 10% reserved for welfare of orphans and widows.

  8. Emergency Response Centers:
The Cabinet approved the establishment of Emergency Response Centres in all 3,645 panchayats to strengthen disaster preparedness and safeguard lives and property.

These measures reflect the government’s focus on decentralization, rural empowerment, and sustainable development.
