License of two Firms Suspended due to Irregularities under NDPS Act

State Taxes and Excise Commissioner Yunus informed here today that the State Taxes and Excise Department has suspended MD-VI license of two firms in district Sirmaur while taking action against the two firms for not manufacturing the products as per the provisions of the NDPS Act and found irregularities in the sale. He said the firms were not working as per the provisions made under the NDPS Act, hence action has been taken against the firms as per rules.

Besides this, the department has taken action against two licensees found in the trade of illicit liquor in Hamirpur district and sealed their licenses by sealing thirteen shops located in Hamirpur. Similarly, a license shop in District Kangra has been sealed after illicit liquor was found in the shop during the inspection. Further action is being taken in this regard as per rules. The Commissioner said that the department would continue taking action against those involved in trade of illicit liquor in future as well.
