Loreto Convent Hosts Inter-School Literary Fest — From Quills to Quotes

Loreto Convent School, Tara Hall, Shimla, came alive with literary flair and youthful energy during its Inter-School Literary Festival titled “From Quills to Quotes: A Journey of Expression.” The event celebrated creativity, collaboration, and communication through a range of competitions in English and Hindi.

The festival was inaugurated under the leadership of Sister Apolina, Secretary of the Managing Committee and Community Leader, and Principal Ms. Reetu Khanna Sharma, whose vision guided the English and Hindi departments in successfully organizing the event. The festival was held in collaboration with Chitkara University, represented by Mr. Sanjeev Sahni and Mr. Kamal Pama.

The Tribune served as the media partner, with representatives Mukesh Kalkotia, Devinder Sharma, and Kartik in attendance. Dr. Kamayani Bisht, Principal of JNL Government College of Fine Arts, Shimla, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, encouraging students to pursue excellence in expression.

The event featured participation from 12 schools, with competitions across the following categories:

Hindi Competitions:

  • Poetry Recitation

  • Slogan Writing

  • Debate

English Competitions:

  • Declamation

  • Dramatization

  • Turn Coat

  • Best School Trophy: DAV New Shimla, for overall excellence.

    • 2nd: Arjun Rajput (St. Edward’s)

    • 3rd: Asmita Singh (DAV New Shimla)

  • Slogan Writing:

    • 1st: Amulya (DAV New Shimla)

    • 2nd: Divyanshi Sharma (Sacred Heart Convent)

    • 3rd: Arnav Thakur (St. Edward’s)

  • Debate:

    • Best Speaker: Bhumika (DAV New Shimla)

    • Promising Speaker: Avantika Sood (Loreto Convent)

English Results:

  • Declamation:

    • 1st: Asmit Verma (DAV Lakkar Bazar)

    • 2nd: Aradhya Sisodiya (Loreto Convent)

    • 3rd: Arushi Thakur (Chapslee School)

  • Dramatization:

    • 1st: Nyasa Kimta (DAV New Shimla)

    • 2nd: Dhruv Sharma (Shimla Public School), Ishaan Azad (St. Edward’s)

    • 3rd: Udbavi Banga (Loreto), Vaishnavi Sharma (Saraswati Paradise)

  • Turn Coat:

    • 1st: Palchin Agnmo (DAV New Shimla)

    • 2nd: Savi Sektoo (Sacred Heart Convent)

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the Principal, appreciating the Chief Guest, dignitaries, participants, and organizers for making the fest a success.
