CM Sukhu attended the concluding cultural evening of the International Minjar Fair at Chamba on Sunday. Greeting the people on the festive occasion, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the comprehensive development of Chamba district. He said that road infrastructure remained a key priority, with Rs. 591 crore spent on the construction, expansion and upgradation of roads across the district.

Highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening healthcare services, the Chief Minister said that Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College had been established in Chamba to provide advanced medical facilities closer to home, reducing the need for residents to seek specialized treatment outside the district. He added that the institution had been equipped with modern healthcare infrastructure and advanced medical technology. A new 200-bed hospital, built at a cost of Rs. 158 crore, would improve patient care while providing better facilities for doctors, nursing staff, medical students and other healthcare professionals. He reiterated the government’s resolve to further strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure quality medical services for all.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented prizes to the winners of various competitions held during the Minjar Fair and released the official souvenir published by the district administration.

Nandani of Chamba district was crowned Miss Minjar Queen during the event.

The grand finale of the cultural celebrations featured a captivating performance by renowned Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal, who kept the packed audience at Chamba Chowgan entertained with his high-energy musical performance.
