CM Sukhu has directed district administrations across Himachal Pradesh to remain on high alert in response to the ongoing torrential rains lashing various parts of the State. Taking telephonic updates from Deputy Commissioners, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for proactive measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

Stressing public safety as the top priority, he appealed to citizens to stay away from rivers and nullahs during the monsoon and to adhere strictly to safety advisories issued by local authorities. “People’s safety is our foremost priority. I urge everyone to exercise caution and avoid risky areas near water bodies,” he said.

The Chief Minister also called for close coordination among departments to ensure a swift response in case of emergencies such as landslides, flash floods, or road blockages. He instructed officials to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of essential services, so that the daily lives of citizens are not disrupted during this challenging period.

Expressing grief over the death of a newly married couple in Rajnagar, Chamba district, due to a house collapse caused by a landslide, Sukhu offered condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and peace for those affected.
