The much-awaited 12th edition of MTB Shimla, India’s premier mountain biking challenge, is set to thrill cycling enthusiasts from May 16th to 18th, 2025. Organized by the Himalayan Adventure Sports & Tourism Promotion Association (HASTPA) in collaboration with Himachal Tourism, Government of Himachal Pradesh, and the Cycling Association of Himachal Pradesh, this flagship event will be flagged off from the historic Ridge in Shimla by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
100 Cyclists, 120 km, 3 Days of Adventure
This year’s MTB Shimla will feature 100 cyclists from 28 cities across 20 states, tackling a challenging 120 km trail designed to test endurance, skill, and spirit. The route weaves through jeep tracks, meadow trails, and cross-country segments, offering a unique experience through some of Shimla’s most scenic landscapes.
Heritage Ride on May 16th: Showcasing Shimla’s Cultural Pride
One of the major highlights of MTB Shimla 2025 is a 20 km Heritage Ride through the heart of Shimla on May 16th, spotlighting the town’s rich history, architectural beauty, and colonial legacy. This ride, conducted in the presence of youth and school children, aims to connect the new generation with Shimla’s glorious past while promoting eco-friendly transport.
Breathtaking Trails Through Kufri-Chail and Glen Reserve
Participants will ride through stunning locations such as the Kufri-Chail Wildlife Sanctuary and Potter’s Hill-Glen Reserve Forest, offering not just a test of cycling prowess, but also an immersive experience in Himachal Pradesh’s rich biodiversity and serene forest landscapes.
