A National Seminar on Teacher Education in Present Scenario was organized in Laureate Institute of Education and Training, Bharari, Shimla today as the main sub themes were: awareness of skills among teacher educators; academics pressure: too much to handle; without professional, quality delivery would be a challenge; impact of two year B.Ed. course as a whole; attitude of students and teachers towards two year B.Ed. course; impact of two year B.Ed. internship on the school system.
The chief guest of the seminar was Prof. (Dr.) Harbans Rana, Dept of Education H.P.U. Shimla. The main resource persons were Prof Susarshna Rana (Chairman), Prof. (Dr.) Prabha Jishtu, Prof. (Dr.) Pushpa Gautam, Dr. Vivek Nath Tripathi, and Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Pal, all from the Dept of Education H.P.U. The Chairman of the institute Prof. Shivraj Singh, Dr. Ran Singh, Managing Director, Dr. Meera Singh, Principal Laureate Public School were also present in the seminar.
Principals, assistant professors of various colleges along with Phd scholars participated in the seminar. The seminar began with a welcome speech by the School Principal Dr. Seema Sharma. The seminar was divided into two technical sessions in which the principals, assistant professors of various colleges along with Phd scholars and students of the institute presented their views on various sub-topics.
Each technical session was evaluated by resource persons and there were open discussions on various sub-themes. The seminar concluded with thoughtful suggestions and was a great success.
