The second day of the All India Girls Trekking Expedition was marked by an adventurous trek to Indru Nag, where cadets had the opportunity to experience the natural beauty and historical significance of the area. On the first evening, cadets were briefed through a PowerPoint presentation about the history of Indru Nag Temple and the trekking routes. They were also given basic trekking guidelines.

Today, 300 cadets from the Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Rajasthan Directorates arrived, bringing the total number of cadets to 510. The camp saw participation from senior wing cadets of the 1 HP Girls Battalion NCC Solan, representing Government Colleges from Dharamshala, Palampur, Mandi, Kullu, Una, Bilaspur, and Nalagarh. Additionally, junior wing cadets from Joginder Nagar and Ghumarwin also took part.

At 5:00 AM, Camp Commandant Colonel Sanjay Shandil flagged off the trek. Accompanied by his wife, Poonam Shandil, Colonel Shandil trekked alongside the cadets and joined them for breakfast at the Indru Nag grounds. He emphasized the importance of health and safety during the trek.

The cadets enjoyed mesmerizing views during the trek. Upon reaching Indru Nag Temple, they learned about its history from the temple priest and relished the picturesque scenery of Dharamshala. The cadets also observed paragliding activities at the nearby paragliding site. Tomorrow, all cadets will attend the opening address, followed by visits to the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium and the Shaheed Memorial.

Under the leadership of Colonel Sanjay Shandil, this trekking expedition provided cadets with an exceptional trekking experience while raising their awareness about health and safety. Colonel Shandil’s presence and guidance significantly boosted the cadets’ confidence and enthusiasm, making the event a memorable and enriching experience for all participants.
