In the ongoing visits of Nepal Army a high level eight member delegation led by Major General Niranjan Kumar Shrestha, Director General Military Training & Doctrine is visiting India from 29 August to 04 September 2021. The delegation has visited various important training establishments as Military College of Telecommunication and Engineering, Infantry School, Army Marksmanship Unit, Army War Collegeat Mhow; Armed Forces Medical College, Army Sports Institute, National Defence Academy, Military Intelligence Training School & Depot, College of Military Engineering at Pune and WARDEC in Delhi. The delegation also met General MM Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, COAS, Indian Army on 02 September 2021.
The delegation is being hosted by HQ ARTRAC at Shimla from 02-03 September 2021. The delegation was briefed on essential aspects of training in the Indian Army, enhancing cooperation in military training and the way forward. The delegation stayed in the heritage hotel Clarkes at Shimla and visited the famous Ridge, Mall Road and Jakhu Temple. They were appreciative of scenic beauty of Shimla. In the final leg of the visit the delegation is visiting 14 Gorkha Training Centre at Subathu and Indian Military Training at Dehradun.The Nepal delegation visit has helped in further deepening of India-Nepal relations.
Nepal is an important neighbour of India and occupies special significance in our foreign policy. There are deep linkages between the countries because of geography, history, culture and economic ties.Indian Army maintains deep ties with Nepal as the Indian Army Gorkha battalions draws its troops from Nepal and the retired Gorkha soldiers in Nepal are being looked after by the Indian government. Nepal Army is looking forward for assistance in enhancing their training for which their delegations have been visiting our premier training establishments in the past. A Nepali joint civil and military delegation in March2021 had visited India for establishing their National Defence University.
