New Sports Policy In Himachal – Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said here today that the government is bringing a new comprehensive sports policy to strengthen the sports infrastructure in the state. The main objective of this sports policy is to encourage the emerging sports talents in the state as well as to provide excellent facilities to the players.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to further improving the level of sports by providing better facilities to the players in the state. He said that providing adequate resources and facilities to the players is the priority of the government and is working towards further honing the skills of the emerging players and achieving excellence in sports.

A new sports policy has been prepared keeping this goal in mind. He said that under the proposed sports policy, there will be a significant increase in the prize money given to the players who have brought glory to Himachal at the international level. This step will not only encourage the players to perform better but will also reward the tireless work and efforts of the athletes representing the country and the state in world level competitions.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to strengthening the sports infrastructure and providing advanced facilities and an enabling environment to hone sports talents. Many sports personalities of the state have proved their talent in international level competitions and the government is determined to shape their future by providing excellent sports infrastructure and other facilities so that they can bring glory to the country and the state. Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the new policy is a concrete step towards promoting excellence by nurturing sports talents and establishing Himachal as the sports skill hub of the country.
