NITI Aayog has launched the DPI@2047 roadmap, outlining the next phase of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure aimed at driving inclusive and productivity-led growth towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

The roadmap was unveiled on 27 April 2026 by Vice Chairman Suman Bery and Principal Scientific Adviser Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, in the presence of senior government officials and industry representatives.

Developed with EkStep Foundation and Deloitte, the strategy sets a two-phase approach: DPI 2.0 (2025–2035) focused on livelihood-led growth, and DPI 3.0 (2035–2047) aimed at broad-based prosperity, with immediate emphasis on DPI 2.0.

DPI 2.0 targets key sectors such as MSMEs, agriculture, education, and health, and focuses on strengthening credit systems, energy access, and benefit delivery. It also prioritizes AI integration, digital entrepreneurship, and improved data use for better service delivery.

Officials said the plan expands DPI beyond identity, payments, and welfare into productivity and market access, enabling wider technology adoption across sectors.

Speaking at the launch, Suman Bery highlighted productivity as the key driver of future growth, while Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood emphasized scaling scientific innovation through trusted digital systems. NITI Aayog also stressed the role of states in accelerating implementation.

The roadmap aims to strengthen India’s digital ecosystem and support long-term goals for Viksit Bharat 2047.
