The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is observed every year on April 28 to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases and to highlight the importance of safe and healthy working conditions. Led by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the day raises global awareness about workplace safety and encourages governments, employers, and workers to work together to build a strong culture of prevention. It also focuses on emerging challenges in occupational health and safety, including risks from new technologies, climate change, and changing work environments, while honouring workers who have suffered injuries or lost their lives on the job.
