One Step Closer to An Independent Journey

guruharkrishan.6.12.15aTiny tots of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Bus Stand, Shimla, came one step closer to their independent journey as they celebrated their Annual cum Graduation Day. Pankaj Rai, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation graced the occasion as the students gave an outstanding performance during the cultural programme.

Speaking on the occasion School Principal Gurpritkaur Thukral informed that it was their annual event and as the year was drawing to an end, students will also move ahead and join their new schools. It is the values and mannerism that they have inculcated which will be reflected in the coming years. She gave a brief recap of the students activities that helped them in becoming more confident and self reliant. She also highlighted about celebration of different festivals which helped in inculcating religious tolerance among the little ones as well as encourage the feeling of brotherhood.

guruharkrishan.6.12.15The event started with gifting of bouquet to the chief guest which was followed by various dances performed by the little ones. During the programme they showcased various dances belonging to different states of the country including Bengali, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Himachali and Marathi.  

After that came the turn of Ten Little Monkeys who rocked the stage with their cute performances, followed by little ones showing their love and affection for their parents via reciting a rhyme Mummy Darling I Love You.

Highlight of the show was a peppy dance number Kajra Moohabat Waala by little Nilaksha and Sayam that made everyone laugh as well as enjoy with their adorable jesters.

Chief Guest Pankaj Rai said, “It was a wonderful show as he got an opportunity to witness little ones perform. He appreciated the efforts of students and teachers for making the show a grand success”. He also laid emphasis on Clean India Mission and said that all should try to keep our city clean and not just our homes. He also informed about the helpline that has been recently launched to keep the city clean; which is functional from 9 a.m. on all days of the week. People can call and avail this service anytime and thereby help in keeping the city clean.

The function concluded with prize distribution ceremony in which Nilaksha, Kasanveer, Vanshika, Arjit, Prince, Asmi, Charvi, Sayam, Riya, Anshu, Shriya, Lakshay, Savya, Mehar, Sapna and Deepkaran were awarded for their outstanding performances for the current academic year.
