An ICSSR sponsored International Seminar ‘Partition Revisited’ was organized at St. Bede’s College, Shimla as eminent scholars such as Sucheta Mahajan, Ritu Menon, Dilip Simeon, Meghna Guha Thakurta and Debajani Sengupta addressed the students coming from different parts of India, Bangladesh and Tanzania. More than 200 delegates attending the conference presented papers on the historical, political, social and literary aspects of the Divide of 1947.

St Bede's CollegeStudents from various schools namely, Loreto Convent Tara Hall, Sacred Heart, D.A.V. School, New Shimla as well as students from different colleges and Himachal Pradesh University also presented their research papers. A film ‘The House on Gulmohar Avenue’ was presented by Samina Mishra, a documentary film maker from New Delhi.

The seminar was organized by the Departments of Political Science and History under the able guidance of the Principal Dr. (Sr.) Beena John. The organising team comprising of Madhu Parmar, Puja Sharma and Punam Chauhan Verma worked tirelessly to make this event a great success.
