Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed President of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee and Congress Party’s Chief Whip in the Lok Sabha, B. Manickam Tagore, in New Delhi and congratulated him on his new responsibility.
Pathania expressed confidence that the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee would be further strengthened under Tagore’s leadership.
During the meeting, he highlighted the Himachal Pradesh government’s key developmental and welfare initiatives under Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, emphasizing its commitment to transparent, accountable and people-centric governance.
He said Kangra district was being developed as the tourism capital of the state, with the Durgesh Aranya Wildlife Park at Bankhandi in Dehra emerging as a major tourism project.
Pathania also highlighted the state’s landmark decision to provide a minimum support price for cow and buffalo milk and selected naturally grown produce, making Himachal Pradesh the first state in the country to implement such a measure.
He said the government had fulfilled all ten Assembly poll guarantees despite financial challenges and also highlighted the Chief Minister Sukh-Aashray Yojana, along with reforms in healthcare, including the introduction of robotic surgery, and education, which has helped the state achieve a literacy rate of 99.30 percent.
