A fitting tribute to Harish Chandra Rai, a celebrated artist, a mentor, a friend for many and a doting father, as Language & Culture Department organised the HC Rai Centenary ArtFest in collaboration with Abhivyakti, an non profit organisation founded by Amala Rai. The inauguration of the event was done by noted artist MC Saxena, along with HC Rai’s first student, SN Kushawa, Director Language & Culture, Dr Pankaj Lalit, SN Joshi, Jawahar Lal Sharma, Bharti Khuthiala among many other prominent personalities from the art world.

Starting new trends, the inauguration was done by Saxena as he picked up the brush and drew the symbol ‘Om’ and signed it, followed by others who were present. After a brief round of the galleries all gathered in Gothic Hall where two video clips about Rai’s life were showcased and senior artists shared their memories about him.
