The Annual Day function for the Upper Primary Department, Auckland House School was held here today as the chief guest for the event was Ms Namita Lal, Principal North Oak Public School, Sanjauli. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest along with Director Principal Auckland House School, Sunita John and Principal Auckland House School for Boys, Michael A John.

The cultural programme included a variety of items—the choir mesmerised the audience with their melodious voices followed by the English musical based on a classic, “The Pied Piper of Hamelin” wherein the children artistically unfolded the moral that ‘a promise once made should be kept’. Graceful Tribal and Kumaoni folk dances were performed by the students. The children presented a humorous Hindi play titled “Sadachaar Ka Tabeez” depicting corruption and how foolish the king could be and how scrupulous people can be to earn a quick buck or freely take bribes.

The Principal shared a brief report recounting the achievements of the school in the academic and non-academic fields. The chief guest appreciated the exuberant performances of the students, while emphasising that both parents and teachers should work in tandem for the overall holistic growth of the children.
