Marking the celebration of Van Mahotsav Week (01–07 July 2025), the 133 Eco Task Force conducted widespread plantation and awareness activities across Mandi and Kullu districts. The Kufri Terriers formally inaugurated the plantation season with a Bhumi Pujan ceremony and sapling plantation in their designated area.
Plantation drives were carried out at multiple locations including Bagshad, Parvain, and Shakra in Karsog Tehsil (Mandi), Ropa and Sadi Dhaar under Aut Tehsil (Mandi), and Chalotha in Bhuntar Tehsil (Kullu). These initiatives witnessed enthusiastic participation from school students, teachers, forest guards, Van Mitras, NSS and NCC cadets, Mahila Mandal members, and local community members.
At each location, the events were supported by members of Gram Panchayat Tikkar, Mahila Mandal Tikkar, the Forest Department (Mandi and Banjar Divisions), and other community stakeholders. The plantation efforts aimed to promote environmental awareness, encourage community engagement, and strengthen local ecosystems.
These activities form part of ongoing efforts to preserve green cover, foster environmental stewardship, and involve citizens in sustainable forestry practices during Van Mahotsav — India’s annual tree planting festival.
