Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appreciated the efforts of the State Government in effectively implementing the campaign of covid-19 vaccination in the State. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while interacting with the members of electronic media here today.

Chief Minister said that during his Delhi visit he also apprised the Prime Minister regarding the Covid protocol and vaccination programme being undertaken in the State. He said that he invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate 111 MW Sawara-Kuddu hydro-electric project. He also urged him to lay foundation stones of 210 MW Luhri Stage-1 hydro-electric project worth Rs 1810 crore and of 66 MW Dholasidh hydro-electric project.

Jai Ram Thakur said that he also urged the Prime Minister to sanction bulk drug and medical devices park for the State. He said that he apprised the Prime Minister that these two parks would not only go a long way in promoting industrial growth in the State, but also ensure adequate employment opportunities to the youth of the State.

Chief Minister said that he also requested the Prime Minister to provide funds for construction of the proposed Greenfield airport at Nagchala, Mandi. He said that the Lidar survey of this proposed airport has been done and this airport would not only be important from strategic point of view, but also give boost to tourism development in the area.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government was keeping an eye on the tourists visiting the State and urged them to strictly follow covid appropriate behaviour. He said that the State Government has also urged the hotel and home-stay owners to ensure proper precautionary steps while welcoming the tourists in their units.

Chief Minister said that as many as 44.16 lakh doses of vaccine have been administered in the State which include about 10.45 lakh second doses.
