OrchidPrep.12.8 (1)The Orchid Prep School, New Shimla organized a two day Pre-Independence Day celebrations programme with much enthusiasm and fervor. Tiny tots from Orchid school had prepared a colourful program to entertain the chief guest and the parents alike as they spread the message of peace and harmony. Chief Guest Ashish Kohli, HAS Additional Director Elementary Education, Govt of Himachal Pradesh was present to encourage the children as they sang and danced on quite a few patriotic numbers such as “apne desh ke veer jawano ka”, “nanha munna rahi”, “mere desh ki dharti”. To mark this day they even presented a small skit with a message of patriotism.

The children even participated in a National Flag making and colouring competition for which the chief guest awarded them prizes and trophies.

OrchidPrep.12.8 (12)The following children won prizes — Vagisha, Vaivabv, Aadvika, Samiksha, Shubham, Shalina, Moksh, Vandana, Rahul, Abhigya.

On this special day an Eye Check-up Camp was also organized in which Dr Rakesh, from IGMC checked eyes of nearly 100 kids. To support this cause the members of the Inner Wheel Club were also present to support the children and show solidarity to work passionately for a noble cause, who were lead by the Club president Meenakshi Sood. The Doctor then addressed the parents and members alike about how to take care of eyes and the dos and don’t for keeping them healthy.

School Principal Neelam Vij showed her appreciation to all for making this occasion special with their attendance and added that by organizing such activities on a regular basis they try to instil confidence among kids.
