Celebrating Journalistic Achievements and Press Freedom

The Press Council of India, mandated by an Act of Parliament to uphold journalistic standards and safeguard press freedom, has announced the launch of the “National Awards for Excellence in Journalism.” The prestigious awards aim to recognize and honor outstanding contributions by journalists, freelancers, and photojournalists of Indian nationality in the field of print journalism.

The National Awards for Excellence in Journalism will be presented in various categories, with each award comprising a commendation citation and a substantial cash prize. This recognition seeks to encourage exceptional journalistic practices and inspire journalists to continue their valuable work in promoting transparency and accountability in society.

Inviting Entries: Press Council Of India

The Press Council of India has invited all eligible journalists, freelancers, and photojournalists of Indian nationality to participate in the awards program. Entrants are encouraged to submit their exceptional works for consideration in the following categories in print journalism:

Deadline and Application Process:
