Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur called on Union Health and Family Welfare, Chemical and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh L. Mandaviya at New Delhi today. Chief Minister apprised him that AIIMS at Bilaspur will be completed by July and state government is making earnest efforts to dedicate it to people of the state and added that state government will request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the ambitious project soon. He further said that state has strong network of health institutions and AIIMS will add another milestone to the existing infrastructure and health facilities.
Chief Minister also requested the Union Minister for sanctioning Bulk Drug Pharma Park. He said that Himachal Pradesh is the largest Pharma hub in Asia and added that if the Park is sanctioned to the state it will not only boost industrialisation in the state but also support the Pharma industry, as Pharma raw material will be produced in the state itself. This will also reduce our dependence on import of Pharma raw material from other countries, he added. Chief Minister further said that the Park will not only attract large investment but also generate employment to local people. He also discussed about various schemes and projects under health sector. The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister of all possible assistance. Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh also gave valuable inputs during the meeting.
