The Department of Industries, Himachal Pradesh, successfully organized a Reverse Buyer–Seller Meet (RBSM) under the Government of India’s flagship One District One Product (ODOP) programme as part of the HIM MSME Fest 2026, held from 3rd to 5th January at Shimla. The event highlighted 12 district-specific products, reflecting the unique cultural and economic identity of Himachal Pradesh’s districts, and aimed at promoting local entrepreneurship, brand building, and value-chain development.
During the meet, Letters of Intent (LoI) worth ₹5.29 crore were signed for 10 ODOP products, signaling a positive outcome for local sellers and buyers. The event provided a strong marketing platform and facilitated linkages with reputed e-commerce players, with the Government of India, through Invest India, helping onboard empanelled vendors. Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) also actively participated, while the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) acted as the networking partner for the meet.
The event was chaired by the Hon’ble Industries Minister, in the presence of Sh. R.D. Nazeem, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries), Dr. Yunus, Commissioner of Industries, Sh. Tilak Raj Sharma, Additional Director of Industries, and Sh. Ramesh Verma, Joint Director of Industries. Twelve ODOP stalls showcasing district-specific products were the highlight, including Chamba Rumal from Chamba, Seabuckthorn by-products from Lahaul & Spiti, Kangra Tea and Kangra Paintings from Kangra, woolen shawls and handloom products from Kullu, Chulli oil from Kinnaur, and ginger-garlic paste from Sirmaur.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stressed that the Department of Industries should maintain regular follow-up with buyers and sellers to ensure that the Letters of Intent are converted into actual business transactions. Chief Minister Sh. Harshvardhan Chauhan emphasized the need to actively promote the remaining two ODOP products in future events to create product-centric industrial hubs for balanced regional development.
Sh. R.D. Nazeem highlighted that the RBSM under ODOP is a strategic initiative to build strong brands for district-specific products and strengthen their value chains. Dr. Yunus noted that this initiative marks a promising start for local product promotion and reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to accelerating MSME growth through ODOP-focused programmes.
