Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, R.S. Bali, inaugurated the two-day cultural and social awareness event “RIWAAS” at the historic Gaiety Theatre in Shimla. Praising the initiative, he said such cultural platforms play an important role in positively engaging youth and guiding them away from drug abuse while reconnecting them with Himachal’s rich cultural heritage.
R.S. Bali emphasized that RIWAAS is more than a cultural programme, describing it as a meaningful step towards social awareness and youth empowerment. He said promoting traditional values and creative expression can help channel young energy in the right direction.
State President Mohit Thakur and the General Secretary of the Youth Enlightenment Society, Himachal Pradesh, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of community-driven efforts to preserve culture and address social challenges.
The first day of the event featured a Traditional Group Natti Competition, with around ten teams from different parts of Himachal Pradesh participating.
