dance.8.8.15insideShimla’s ace choreographer, Rinku Khan organized a dance extravaganza titled ‘Ticket to Bollywood” here today at the YMCA Hall as Shimla SP Cyber Crime, Anjum Ara presided as the chief guest and Principal Euro Kids Prep School, Ravine Singh was the guest of honour for the occasion. The dance variety programme had been conducted after the successful completion of a workshop from 15th to 31st July, for children of all age groups. Choreographer Rinku said, “We have been taking dance lessons for children of various age groups from different schools from around Shimla City. Our group consists of more than 80 kids from 3 to 18 years old. A 15 day dance workshop was being held for children at YMCA and our today’s show is a reflection of what all the children have learnt”. He further added that it is very difficult as well as easy to work with children. First you need to have lots of patience and perseverance to teach them, and second if guided in the right direction you can easily mould and work with them as children are energetic, spontaneous and quite natural.

dance.8.8.15insideaThe evening began with comparers Ashleen Kaur and Micheal Grover, who introduced the programmes with a light-hearted, entertaining chit-chat. The programmes featured around 15 dance items highlighting the theme of Bollywood as children danced on various numbers ranging from a Govinda theme to Honey Singh or the Hip Hop style. The children had perfected in each style. The highlight was the dance performances by the Euro Kids children who followed all the moves taught by the dance master Rinku and her assistance Janavi. Dressed in colourful attire, the children danced on quite a few songs, winning the hearts of the audience and a huge round of applause from all present. Few of the children performing on the occasion were Jaanvi, Monu, Kashvi, Mansi, Prerna, Joshiya, Japneet, Dikshit, Aaryan, Anshuman, Mithsal, Disha, Aditi, Dhayana, Edha, Advey, Sahil, Mehardeep, Aliya, Shivika and Aryman from DAV, Chelsea, Edwards and Laureate schools.

Rinku Khan further informed, “Satya On Line Production, Mumbai, are soon launching a movie titled “Shimla to Mumbai”, and the children from our workshop will get an opportunity to feature in it. The auditions will be held in the month of December”.

Speaking on the occasion SP Ara said that parents should teach their kids the difference between good and bad, as at this age they are very impressionable. She also advised the parents that since children see and follow things, parents should be careful of the examples they set at home. The evening ended as the chief guest distributed medals and trophies to all the dancers who gave a thrilling performance showcasing their talent and newly learnt moves!!!
