Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates in various government departments and organisations during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, held via video conferencing.
Addressing the newly appointed youth, the Prime Minister described the occasion as a significant milestone in their lives and said their contribution would be crucial in advancing India’s development journey across key sectors such as railways, banking, defence, health and education. He congratulated the appointees and also acknowledged the support of their families in their success.
PM Modi said India’s young population and rapid technological progress have drawn global attention, adding that international stakeholders are eager to participate in India’s growth story. He noted that during his recent foreign engagements, several countries and global companies expressed strong interest in partnering with India in areas such as semiconductors, AI, green energy, critical minerals, agriculture and advanced manufacturing.
Highlighting the employment potential of these collaborations, the Prime Minister said that new investments and technology partnerships are directly creating large-scale job opportunities for the country’s youth. He added that emerging sectors like clean energy, green hydrogen, sustainable manufacturing and electronics are expected to drive future global growth and open new avenues for employment.
PM Modi cited India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem, production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme and expanding electronics manufacturing sector as examples of how industrial growth is generating jobs. He also pointed to major investments in shipbuilding, maritime infrastructure and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, saying these sectors would further boost employment opportunities for engineers and skilled workers.
The Prime Minister underlined that India’s development strategy is focused on building a Viksit Bharat by 2047, with large-scale investments across sectors already translating into millions of jobs. He said infrastructure expansion in railways, highways, ports, airports and digital connectivity has transformed rural areas and created new opportunities for farmers, traders and students.
Highlighting India’s growing startup ecosystem, PM Modi said the country has become the world’s third-largest startup hub with over 2.3 lakh recognised startups, with increasing participation from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as well as women entrepreneurs supported by government schemes.
Addressing the newly appointed employees, he urged them to see public service as a responsibility towards citizens and to work with empathy and dedication. He encouraged them to continuously upgrade their skills through platforms like iGOT Karmayogi and adapt to new technologies and systems.
The Prime Minister concluded by expressing confidence that the new appointees would play an important role in strengthening governance and accelerating India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.
