SAGES Makes Hearts Smile

Shimla Amateur Golden and Environment Society (SAGES) organized a rangoli making and a flower arrangement show at the Gaiety Theater. In the event nearly 150 students from 17 different schools, including Auckland House School for Girls and Boys, DAV Lakkat Bazzar, DAV New Shimla, JCB, BSN Chakkar, Laureate Public School, Chalsea, Chapslee, Portmore Shishu Shiksha Niketna, Monal Public School, Sawatri Public School and even students of Ayushi school exhibited their creative talent.

The event was divided into three categories – flower arrangement, waste material and toys with fruits and vegetables. Creativity of students seem to have no limits as amazing landscapes, ships, beaches and animals were crafted out of fruits like melon, water melons, kiwi, grapes, bananas, bringle on one hand whereas on the other hand in rangoli designs of flowers such as mongra, rose, marigold, dalai; students depicted various themes like patriotism, save girl child, message of peace, auspiciousness via Lord Ganesh and prosperity by peacock were projected.

While informing about the event one of the members of SAGES said that it in an annual event and a way to encourage young minds towards environment friendly ways of life by recycling waste and planting more plants. We do not believe in challenging the creativity of any child and hence we don’t hold it as a competition but simply as a show.

All the participants were honoured for their efforts in form of a certificate of appreciation after conclusion of the exhibition.
